Active Shooter incidents have become all too frequent across the U. S. Between 2000 and 2017, FBI data shows 250 of these incidents occurred in the U. S. leaving 799 dead and more than 1,400 injured. The data shows 42% of these incidents took place in a place of businesses. (ASSP, 2019). Join us to learn how you can be better prepared for the unthinkable today!

In this workshop you will learn:
1. What you need to know to prepare your business for this type of situation
2. How to enhance your emergency response plan.
3. A few basic self-defense skills

Speakers:

Art Vega
Art Vega is the founder of Paratus Academy and a Coast Guard. He has over 20 years of experience in the Coast Guard conducting workplace violence, anti-harassment training and various other training courses under Homeland Security. Over 15 years of experience training self-defense as a Jiu Jitsu instructor for all age groups. Art holds a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and is a World Champion.
  
Patrick Fernandez
Patrick Fernandez has 10 years of experience as an emergency responder/security guard in the Santa Rosa area. He has been working as a Judo instructor for over two years and recently acquired his judo teaching certificate in order to have his own team at Paratus Academy. He also continues to work as a security guard in various capacities.  He is a founding member of the Paratus Academy and serves as a black belt Judo instructor.  Since 2011, his primary areas of focus have been on self-defense and complex preparedness.
