Details: As laws change on the legal use of cannabis products, as well as demographics, employers face new issues at work. This training will provide practical tips and advice for:
  • Medical marijuana use in the workplace;
  • Workplace safety concerns;
  • Drug testing and other employee and applicant privacy issues;
  • How to handle marijuana-related reasonable accommodation requests; and
  • What employers should do to protect themselves from claims.
Speaker Bio:
Picture
Justin Paddock's practice is focused on conducting internal investigations and providing advice/counsel to public and private sector employers.
Justin is a former public sector executive, who oversaw two state offices. Governor Brown appointed him to lead a program within the Department of Consumer Affairs. Justin and his team investigated consumer complaints throughout California and coordinated enforcement efforts with local District and City Attorneys. He managed more than sixty employees.
Justin began his career analyzing and lobbying legislation at the State Capitol. He has extensive experience with State of California human resources policies, including: progressive discipline, recruitment practices, and bargaining unit disputes.
