Details: California employers will soon need to adjust themselves to a new reality once again as a number of new workplace legislation takes effect in 2018. From 'banning the box' to prohibiting pay history inquiries, next year presents significant new requirements and challenges for California employers. Employment attorney Benjamin M. Ebbink will present on these and other newly enacted laws, and will give California employers the tools necessary to remain compliant in 2018.
Speaker Bio:
Benjamin M. Ebbink is Of Counsel in the Sacramento office of Fisher & Phillips LLP. With nearly two decades of experience in labor and employment law, both in private practice and with the California Assembly Committee on Labor and Employment, he focuses on legislation introduced at the state and local level. Benjamin assists employers with navigating evolving legislative and regulatory landscapes in a variety of areas including workplace discrimination, employee privacy, wage and hour, employee compensation, trade secrets, employment contracts and terms, healthcare, immigration, employee leave, workers’ compensation, workplace safety and affirmative action. He received his J.D. in 2000 and his B.A. in 1997 from the University of California, Davis.
