Leaves of absence laws continue to be one of the biggest challenges California employers face when employees need time off. Employers face not only California and federal family leave laws like FMLA, CFRA and PDL, but also a myriad of California statutory requirements, such as providing time off to attend a child's school function, vote, attend certain criminal proceedings, serve as a witness or juror, donate organs or bone marrow, or serve in the civil air patrol, just to name a few. Even more tricky for California employers are requirements in several of these laws to provide continued compensation and/or benefits.
Please join SEAC for two sessions of expert speakers on leave of absence laws and AB 1825 sexual harassment training. Lunch will be provided.
Session 1: State and federal leave of absence laws, presented by employment attorney Joseph Caffrey.
Session 2: Sexual harassment prevention training required for managers and supervisors under AB 1825.
